Aviva Maya Design

Israeli-born Aviva is an experienced and passionate design and development consultant, a design educator, and an artisan trainer.

 

After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 2002, Aviva began her professional career working designing furniture, lighting, and home accessories for Donghia, Inc., as well as product design and development management for Swarovski Ltd.

Expanding her expertise in design and product development, in 2014 Aviva founded Aviva Maya Design, a design consultancy that creates products specializing in artisanal and hand-made goods and training programs for artisans groups in Haiti, India and Iraq.

In the same year, Aviva joined Parsons School of Design where she teaches Space & Materiality course to first-year undergrads. Along with serving as a Part-time faculty, Aviva also partners with corporations, non-profits and design studios to deliver design expertise, training, product design management and brand strategy for home accessories, lighting, furniture, and interior styling.

Aviva can also be found on the advisory panel of the Design Thinking Program at Pace University and the advisory panel of the Frames Awards.
